What is the difference between soft contact lenses and regular contact lenses? The main difference is durability. Everyone has different preferences and needs from a contact lenses. On the other hand you may have a very specific vision problem and getting hundreds of pairs of contact lenses to fit your specific problem may be costly. In this case, hard contact lenses, which are stiffer and more durable, are probably a great solution for you. There are tradeoffs with each type of lens, but your ultimate goal should be a good balance of comfort and clear vision.

Whether or not you want to wear soft contact lenses is ultimately a decision that you will have to make in conjunction with your eye doctor.
